What a fantastic experience at Oak and Beans!
I visited with my son after swimming, and everything was excellent from start to finish. We had pancakes, chips and the Massaman Curry. The food was absolutely delicious. The Massaman Curry was easily a 10/10 — great presentation, fresh ingredients, perfect balance of meat, rice and sauce, and full of flavour.
The pancakes were lovely, and the portion sizes were very generous. We both left happy and full for a very reasonable price.
What impressed me most was the customer service. While we were enjoying our meal, our chips cooled down and became a little soft. A member of staff noticed and kindly offered to make us a fresh, extra crispy portion. That level of care and attention is rare and very much appreciated.
The café itself is warm, cosy and welcoming, with a lovely atmosphere.
Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful meal and excellent service. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for such a detailed and generous review 😊
We’re really glad you and your son enjoyed your visit, especially the Massaman curry and pancakes. It’s great to hear the portions, presentation, and overall value hit the mark for you.
We also appreciate you highlighting the service moment with the chips—that kind of attention to detail is exactly what we expect from our team, and it’s good to see it noticed.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to welcoming you both back again soon!

Really disappointing experience. Despite it being a very quiet day, we waited around 30 minutes for our food. The staff member working seemed to be on her own and clearly stressed, so I genuinely felt sorry for her and didn’t want to add to the pressure by complaining at the time.
Unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait or the price. My order was essentially a single slice of toast with what appeared to be a spoonful of guacamole rather than fresh avocado, slapped onto a plate with very little effort. The presentation looked rushed and thrown together, especially considering the price charged.
The iced coffee was mostly milk with very little coffee flavour. My husband’s bap was fine, but nothing special. The orange juice tasted artificial, and several tables were left dirty. There was also nobody visible at the counter for long periods, with staff seemingly staying out the back.
Overall, poor value for money, disappointing food quality, and a lack of attention to the customer experience. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

I wouldn’t normally leave reviews but we went here today for lunch on our way back from Mullingar to Cork and we were so glad we stopped! Food was so tasty, super flavourful. (I got the chicken tender wrap, my colleagues got two other wraps/sandwiches and they were also lovely). The man behind the counter was so so kind. He gave me a Coke and refused to charge for it and then gave us all a free homemade Indian dessert to take home! What a lovely place and the selection in the shop is beautiful for home bits too. Would absolutely go back and recommend to anyone!
